Sales tax is applied to subscriptions in certain states and provinces in the United States and Canada. This is in line with local tax authority requirements to help ensure we continue to operate responsibly and transparently.
If you're located in a region where tax laws require it, a tax charge will be added to your Perlego subscription. This applies to both new and existing users based in registered U.S. states and Canadian provinces.
Tax rates and rules are set by local governments and may vary depending on your location. Perlego uses your billing address to calculate and apply the correct rate.
Note: We recommend keeping your billing details (including your zip/postal code) up to date to ensure tax is calculated accurately.

Will my subscription price increase?
For many subscribers in the U.S. and Canada, taxes will be added on top of your current subscription price. That means your total may increase depending on your location and applicable rates.
How will I know if I’m affected?
You may notice:
A line item for tax on your upcoming invoice or payment receipt
A slightly higher total at checkout or on renewal
An email or in-app notification informing you of the change, at least 30 days in advance
Where can I see the tax amount?
You can view your charges, including any tax, by visiting your Account Subscription page. To download an invoice or receipt, go to Settings > Subscription > Payment history and click the button next to the relevant payment — each invoice and receipt shows a clear breakdown of the subscription fee and any additional taxes applied.
What if I’m reactivating or switching plans?
You'll be shown a price preview at checkout that includes any applicable tax.
Why am I seeing different pricing?
The price you see depends on your location. To make sure you're getting the correct price for your region, please check that:
Your billing address matches your current location.
You have disabled any VPNs you might be using.
If you are subscribing while located in a region that is different from your billing address, the pricing will reflect the region you are in and the taxes will be based on your billing address.
How can I obtain a copy of my receipts/invoices?
You can receive a PDF invoice automatically after every payment. Log in to the Perlego website, go to Settings > Subscription, scroll to Payment history, and toggle Email invoices on.
After each payment you'll receive an email with your invoice PDF attached, plus a link to download your receipt. For past invoices and receipts, go to Settings > Subscription > Payment history and click the button next to the relevant payment — this opens a page with download links for both your invoice and receipt.
