Create a bookshelf
To create a new bookshelf,
Tap the + icon in the sidebar next to My Bookshelves, or click on the drop-down arrow next to any featured book.
Add a title and description to define your bookshelf and select Create bookshelf.
* Taa-daa * your new bookshelf has now been saved to My Bookshelves.
📲 Creating Bookshelves is not yet available in the app, but you can still view and add to existing Bookshelves.
What content can be added?
Along with books from the Perlego Library, you can also add any website link and public cloud-based document to your bookshelves.

⚠️ Important notes about adding external content
Known piracy websites are blocked and the content will not render
By adding content, you are accepting our Content Policy. We have a strict ban on pirated and harmful content. If you do not follow this policy and usage agreement, we will remove the content, and it may result in your account being deactivated.

Add content
Books on Perlego
In the library
Click the drop-down arrow in the corner of any book and select which bookshelf you’d like to add the book to.
On a book’s information page
Click on the drop-down arrow next to ➕ Add to bookshelf or Want to Read and select the bookshelf you’d like to add the book to.
In the bookshelf
Click on the three dots next to Continue Reading and select Search our library.
In the book
Tap the ➕ Add to bookshelf button in the bottom left corner and select the bookshelf you’d like to remove the book from.
External content
Website links, audio & video content
PDFs, presentations, spreadsheets & other documents
Save the file to Google Drive, Dropbox or any cloud-based storage platform
Change your share settings to Anyone with a link can view
Copy link and paste it into the Add external content text field
Remove content
Books on Perlego
In the library, click the drop-down arrow in the corner of any book and select which bookshelf you’d like to remove the book from.
On a book’s information page, click on the drop-down arrow next to ‘Want to read’ and select the Bookshelf you’d like to remove the book from.
In the bookshelf, click on the three dots next to Continue Reading and select Remove book.
External content
Next to the content you want to remove, tap the three dots and select Remove content.
Delete bookshelf
Tap the ellipses (...) in the top right corner of the bookshelf you want to delete.
Select 🗑️ Delete bookshelf
Reorder contents
Reorder the content in your bookshelf by using the ⬆️ up and down ⬇️ arrows that appear to the left when hovering over a resource.
Add notes
When a bookshelf is open, you can add notes next to any of the content.
Have a favourite quote? What about a key essay point? Just select the three dots and add your note 📝
Book status - Reading, Want to read, and Completed
Within your bookshelves you can categorise books by status, choosing between Reading, Want to read, and Completed.
Share your shelf
Tap the Share button in the top corner of your selected bookshelf to see the options to share by direct link or email.
From there you can choose whether you'd like anyone with a link to be able to view your bookshelf, or you can keep it private by selecting Only invited users.
Once you've invited someone, they'll have 30 days to accept their invitation before it expires.
To manage access,
Tap the dropdown option at the bottom of the Share menu
Tap Can view next to any email to see options
Select Remove to revoke anyone’s access to that bookshelf
Please note: when sharing, the recipient of the invitation will be able to see the email address linked to your Perlego account.
What if I get an error?
If you try to add a document whose privacy/sharing settings are not public, we will not be able to add the content. If you try to add the same link again, it'll be blocked for 1 hour before you can try again.
