Good to know: Downloaded books are stored inside the Perlego app. They are not exported as separate files (like PDFs) that you can keep forever or move to other apps.

How long do downloads stay on my device?
When you download a book, it stays on your device for 30 days before it expires.
Hereâs how it works:
đ Initial period
A newly downloaded book is available offline for 30 days.
đ Automatic renewal (no action needed)
Each time you open the Perlego app, it checks all your downloaded books.
If a book is within 7 days of its current 30-day expiry, the app automatically renews it for another 30 days.
This happens quietly in the background â you donât need to open each book or tap anything.
âł Maximum offline duration
Automatic renewals can continue as long as you keep using the app, up to a maximum of 180 days from when you first downloaded that book.
After 180 days, that offline copy will expire and will no longer auto-renew.
You can still re-download the book again later as long as itâs available in the Perlego library.
If you donât open the Perlego app at all during a 30-day period, your downloads may expire and youâll need to download them again before reading offline.
đ No expiry notifications. We donât currently send push or email notifications before a download expires. If a download has expired, youâll see the download option again and can simply tap to re-download the book.
Download limits
How many books can I download?
You can download up to 30 books to your device for offline reading.
If you try to download a 31st book, youâll see a message:
âDownload limit reached.â
To download more books, remove some existing downloads first (see Manage your downloads below).
How many books can download at once?
There is a limit on how many books can be downloading simultaneously:
You can have up to 5 books downloading at the same time.
If you add more than 5, the additional books will wait in a queue and start downloading automatically once thereâs space.
Manage your downloads
To remove a downloaded book from your device:
Go to your Library by tapping the icon of vertically stacked books.
Find the book you want to remove and tap the ellipses (âŚ) next to its title.
Select Remove from Downloads (âď¸).
A few important details:
Removing a book from Downloads does not:
Remove it from your Bookshelves.
Change its status (e.g. Reading, Completed, Want to Read).
You can re-download the same book at any time, as long as itâs still available on Perlego.
Removing downloads is a good way to:
Free up space on your device.
Stay within the 30-book download limit.
How many books can be downloaded at one time?
You can download up to 30 books at a time.
If you find you've reached your limit, you can remove the books you're no longer reading by clicking the three dots (...) on the right-hand side of the book, and selecting 'remove from downloads'.
Books will remain in your downloads for as long as they are being read. If a book is inactive for 30 days, the download will automatically expire.
Otherwise, downloads last up to 180 days and you're always welcome to download it again once it expires.
Please note, if you download a book on one device, it won't automatically download onto another, but we hope to include this functionality in the future.
Which devices and operating systems are supported?
The Perlego app is compatible with most modern mobile phones and tablets. To get a good reading experience, your device needs to meet the minimum specifications below.
Android
Minimum Android version: Android 8 (Oreo) or later
Minimum RAM: 1.5 GB
iOS (iPhone and iPad)
Minimum iOS version: iOS 13 or later
We donât require a minimum RAM specification on iOS.
This means that:
The oldest iPhones that can run the Perlego app are the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are not supported, as they cannot run iOS 13.
You can also use Perlego in a browser on desktop/laptop â we donât currently offer a separate desktop app.
Syncing offline and online reading
Notes, highlights, and bookmarks made while youâre offline will sync to your account once you reconnect to the internet.
If your Library appears out of sync:
On mobile app:
Log out of your account, then log back in.
On browser:
Try refreshing the page.
If that doesnât help, clear your cache and cookies, then sign in again.
