Request a book through your university or organisation

If you use Perlego through your university, college or organisation, you request new books through your institution rather than the Suggest a book form. This article explains how requests work for students and faculty, and for Perlego administrators.

💡 Good to know: book requests go through your librarian or Perlego administrator, who passes them to your institution's Account Manager. This is the quickest way to get your request reviewed and receive an update.

Check whether the book is already available

Before you send a request, search the library to see if the title is already on Perlego.

  1. Search for the book by title, author or ISBN.

  2. Check the edition, as a different edition may already be available.

Request a book as a student or faculty member

  1. Note the details of the book you need:

    • Title

    • ISBN

    • Author

    • Publisher

    • Edition

  2. Send these details to your librarian.

  3. Check with your librarian for updates, as your institution's Account Manager will follow up with them directly.

Not sure who to contact? Ask your library or the team that gave you access to Perlego.

Request a book as an administrator

  1. Gather the details for each title:

    • Title

    • ISBN

    • Author

    • Publisher

    • Edition

  2. Add the details to an Excel file if you're requesting more than one title, with one row per title and one column for each detail.

  3. Send your request to your dedicated Account Manager by email or through your usual point of contact.

For more information, see Request new titles on Perlego in the Organisation Help Centre.

What happens next

  • Your Account Manager passes your request to our Content team, who review each one individually.

  • If the publisher is one of our existing partners, we submit the request straight away.

  • If we don't yet work with the publisher, we'll try to start a partnership, or follow up on an existing discussion, to accommodate your request.

  • Your Account Manager follows up with your librarian (or with you, if you're an administrator) once there's an update.

Limits

Can you guarantee a book will be added?

No. Publishers make the final decision on their titles, so we can't guarantee a requested book will become available.

Will a requested book be available in every country?

Not always. Publishers set where their titles can be read, so a book may be available in some regions but not others. Learn more in A book is unavailable in my region.

Troubleshooting

If you've already used the Suggest a book form

  • There's no need to submit it again. Our Account Management team reviews these requests and passes them to our Content team.

  • For future requests, contact your librarian (or your Account Manager, if you're an administrator) so your request reaches the right team straight away.

If you don't know who your librarian or Account Manager is

  • Students and faculty: ask your library or the team that gave you access to Perlego.

  • Administrators: ask the Organisation support team through the Organisation contact form.

If you can't find a book you expected to see

  • Use Smart Search to search by topic or keyword.

  • If the book still doesn't appear, request it using the steps above.

Still need help?

Students and faculty: contact your librarian, or contact support.
Administrators: contact the Organisation support team.
