Step by step
Select the text you want to cite in the Perlego Reader.
Click the quotation marks in the pop-up.
Your in-text citation (including page number information where available) will be added to your referencing tab in your chosen styleâready to copy into your work.
Identifying page numbers
Some ebooks (especially PDF ebooks) include fixed page numbers that match the print edition.
You may also see the Page Counter, which shows page numbers true to the digital edition of the ebook.
For referencing, both are acceptableâbut we recommend using fixed page numbers when theyâre available.
Citing ebooks without page numbers
Page numbers may not be available for every title.
If there are no page numbers, please consult your style guidelines or instructor.
đȘ Pro tip: most style guides suggest using the narrowest location reference available, such as the chapter title, section title, or paragraph number.
Using external referencing tools
Whether youâre using tools like Zotero, EndNote, or Mendeley, you can save and organise references from Perlego.
