📀 Difference Between ePUBs and PDFs
📀 Difference Between ePUBs and PDFs

What the difference is between EPUBs and PDFs and how this affects your reading experience.

Updated over a week ago

E-books come in two different formats - an ePUB or a PDF. There are slight differences between the two which dictate what you can do with either of them.

Read the below to make sure you have the best reading experience we can offer.

ePUBs:

  • available to download on our app

  • the most mobile-friendly out of the two (page can adapt to screen size)

  • you can change the text style (font and size)

  • you can also change the background colour scheme (light mode, sepia mode, night mode)

Because of the features above, this means that ePUBs do not have page numbers that correspond to a physical book. If you would like to reference one of these, check out the article here.

PDFs:

  • the most popular are available to download on the app - we are releasing the rest in batches so we can keep an eye on performance (let us know if you would like yours added to the priority list!)

  • the most similar to a physical book - you won't be able to change the font size or style
